Philanthropy Advisory was founded by Kathryn Maher on a simple observation: that generosity is only the beginning. The most impactful giving requires judgement. Knowing where to direct capital, how to structure it, and how to ensure it creates lasting change.

That gap between intent and impact is where I work.

I support founders, families and private clients in making philanthropic decisions that are grounded, well governed and built to endure. I also work with non-profits in strengthening their positioning and readiness for significant philanthropic investment — bringing a perspective shaped by experience on both sides of the table.

My approach is deeply contextual and relationship-led. It develops over time, as priorities become clearer and trust deepens.
